Nowhere or at no other time in our Nation's history, did they sing it in Italian, Japanese, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German, Portuguese, Greek, or any other language because of immigration. It was written in English, adapted into French, and should be sung word for word the way it was written.The news broadcasts even gave the Hindi version translation - which was not even close to our National Anthem. I am not the least bit sorry if this offends ANYONE, this is MY COUNTRY; My Grand Dad served in the military, other family members also served, as well as my wife & I served a combined total of 56 years between us. We made many sacrifices for our country and do not feel we should feel obligated to allow invited people we've welcomed with open arms to influence & change our society to better resemble the one they chose to leave to come here!!! - IF YOU AGREE ABOUT THIS GREAT COUNTRY, SPEAK UP BEFORE ITS TOO LATE-- please pass this along . National Do Not Call List

Telemarketers.... you know you hate them. I registered my home phone last month with the National Do Not Call List, and my daily telemarketer calls have all but stopped. The only calls that are allowed now are from charities, politicians and newspapers (No I don't want to subscribe to the Journal) But I recently learned that cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies this month, and we will start receiving sales calls on our cell phones. We will be charged for these calls.
So to prevent this you have to register your number(s). It blocks your number for five years. You can do it online at www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca

Used Audi R8 for sale cheap with couple dings

The Audi R8 is an aspirational item for most, meaning that most will only aspire to own one and never get to park the actual item in their garage. We blame the $118,000 USD price tag, which is even more in other markets, for own own personal inability to attain one. What if someone were selling a slightly used R8 for cheap? This one's for sale in Germany at the going rate of 35,999 EUR, or just about $52,430 USD. Yes, it's been scratched... and the front end completely destroyed, along with the driver's side rear fender. But the glorious 4.2L V8 mounted in the middle is in pristine condition, and that's all that matters, right? Honestly, all kidding aside, not even Cooter could bring this car back to life, which means $52 grand would be a chunk of chump change for what is essentially a large German paperweight.

Congratulations to Edmonton's own Lynda Steele from Global news on the success of her book Laptop Diaries. Des purchased a box to show support for Lynda and her charity, and Lynda graciously delivered the books in person.
Here are the details in her own words;
"Alberta's women's shelters are in crisis as we head into the holiday season. 27,000 women and children have been turned away at emergency shelters in the past fiscal year alone. In the midst of an affordable housing shortage, where do they go? Back to their abuser. Alberta has the highest rate of domestic murder suicide in the country.
There aren't enough shelter beds, and not enough money to pay over worked shelter workers, who are leaving for better paying jobs.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of women and children experiencing abuse.
My book Laptop Diaries is a fundraiser for the 5 Edmonton area women's shelters. 100% of the proceeds go to support them. The book is $14.95. It's a small price to pay to make a very big difference in some one's life. "

The Barn

Hi everyone, Des sent me this story recently, and I thought it was great, so I am sharing it with you.

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement
money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a
few acres in Portugal. The modest farmhouse had been vacant for
15 years.; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs.
The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers,
but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded
shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in
the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so,
nobody made an offer on the place.

The New York guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved
in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him.
So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and
cut through the welds.
What was in the barn...............?

Very cool find, and an excellent retirement fund.

If you're car proud, like we are, you love the fact that we don't need front licence plates in Alberta. Most auto enthusiasts feel that a front plate detracts from the clean looks of a nice vehicle's bumper. The Alberta government is discussing revamping our plates. After a great trip to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, its buisness as usual here at Auto Details. The gang came back with lots of pictures, stories, and swollen livers. But with the fun behind us its' roll up our sleeves time. With winter nearly here, we are busy prepping summer vehicles for hibernation, and preparing year round vehicles for the harsh elements with paint protecting wax, and snow tire installation.
